Neurospark Clinic

How can our clinic help you, your loved one, or your patient?

The Neurospark Clinic is a private clinic. We provide services that are not covered by the Newfoundland Medical System (MCP). This means that our services are fee for service. However, some insurance companies and government programs (e.g., Jordan's Principle) do cover our services so please contact your private health insurer or government program to determine if coverage for psychological services is available. 

 

Referrals to the clinic can be made with or without a physician's referral. Please note, some insurance companies require a physician's referral. Please check with your provider. Services are provided in a confidential manner and are subject to applicable laws. 

Neuropsychological Assessment

These types of assessments are useful to determine the nature of cognitive impairments and potential ways to rehabilitate those impairments that may arise from:

  • Neurological Disorders such as dementia, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson's, muscular dystrophy, and other conditions.

  • Concussion/Traumatic Brain Injury.

  • Developmental Conditions such as: fetal alcohol spectrum disorder, cerebral palsy, attention deficit-hyperactivity disorder, autism spectrum disorder, and other conditions.

  • Neurological impairment associated with COVID-19. 

  • Other conditions leading to cognitive impairments. 

Psychoeducational Assessments

These types of assessments are useful to determine the nature of learning difficulties and potential methods by which to assist the person with learning information more successfully. 

Psychological Assessments

These types of assessments assist in determining the nature of psychological challenges and potential methods by which to assist a person with learning successful methods by which to cope with those challenges. 

Psychotherapy

Evidence based methods can assist with: 

 

  • Neurological conditions

  • Chronic pain

  • Coping with disability

  • Depression

  • Anxiety

  • Relationship challenges

  • Family communication challenges

  • Workplace challenges

  • Behaviour challenges

  • And other concerns.

Telehealth

Individuals can attend therapy sessions from the comfort of their home using a secure online server. This can allow for services in communities in which no psychological services are available. Please note, telehealth is not currently available for most assessment services. Use of telehealth is at the discretion of the clinician.
